NEW ALLIED HEALTH PROVIDER TYPES
We first released the Allied Health section of our software earlier this year, and we’ve gotten a great response! Facilities love the more structured files we created for this group, but that it also maintained the flexibility of different credentialing requirements that might apply to different situations across departments. The improved credentialing option we made available for this group of providers did raise one question though: why not move more allied health provider types from Other Staff to Allied Health?
This September, we did just that and moved several additional provider types into Allied Health. These include:
- Physical Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assist
- Audiologist
We selected these providers based on a combination of feedback from our customers and an in depth look at the way these professionals and their files are managed across multiple organizations. The workflow in place for this group of credentialed providers is a great fit with much of what we had built for Advanced Practice Nurses and Physicians Assistants, and with a few adjustments they could benefit from the same streamlined process as other providers managing their credentials with Silversheet.
If you had previously entered PTs, OTs, CRNFAs, or Audiologists in Silversheet, you’ll now find them in the Allied Health area with their documents stored in the Facility Documents section. With this move to Allied Health, you’ll also be able to invite these providers to connect to your facility to help manage their credentials through a provider portal. If you have questions about this or any of our other updates, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
