Last weekend, the annual ASCA Conference took place at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Our team flew in from California to a venue that was whirling with excitement and energy from all of the attendants, staff, and vendors.
From information workshops to speaker sessions, there was plenty to experience throughout the conference. Our team had a wonderful time meeting and making friends in ASC community.
With the conference still fresh on our minds, we’d like to share a few of our takeaways, some of which may inspire you to ask yourself questions about your ASC.
1. Your Customers Include Your People:
Although known for its low fares and friendly customer service, Southwest's David Ridley's shared Southwest's true secret sauce: its culture and valuing its people the most. Has your center defined its “culture” to drive success?
2. Patient Safety & Compliance:
While there were many sessions on compliance (from CMS to product compliance) the underlying message was that while compliance can be time consuming, it helps ensure what we are all working towards, patient safety and satisfaction.
3. ASCA is Digital:
ASCA went digital this year with a mobile app, online registration and live-streamed sessions. By going digital, ASCA helped us easily access content, streamline registration, and share our experiences. The challenge to attendees: what are you doing to go digital with your center?
4. Fitness & Fun:
In addition to all the great sessions ASCA put on this year, they also made sure we balanced all of the great meals in the exhibit hall with some fun fitness sessions. #worklifebalance. What was your favorite event at ASCA?
